FAMILY VALUES
We Are A
Family Oriented Business
If you haven’t noticed during your visit to our web site, we are a family oriented, family friendly business. Almost 31 years ago Georgienne Stoker and her two eldest sons, Mark & Craig Stoker investigated the benefits and challenges to starting a family business, a home healthcare agency. Then in the summer of 1988 we opened the doors and Care Team was founded.
Michelle Stoker joined us on that opening day. Frank Stoker joined us about a year later. Then in the early 1990’s Scott Stoker joined us after graduating from college. Georgienne’s sister Rose Helle joined us in the 1990’s and helped run our billing and payroll office. Mark’s wife Cheryl, her sister, brother-in-law, and niece joined us as well. Then Mark’s daughter Marisa joined us after returning from FSU. Scott’s daughter Brittney joined us after graduating from Florida Gulf Coast University. Even Frank’s son Zachery contributed toward optimizing our computer network and our early web site.
While most viewers would agree that we meet the definition of being family oriented, we would also like to share with you a different prospective on this topic. We believe that strong families help create productive members of our community and a better lifestyle for all those living in the community. This is translated into the way we treat and appreciate our employees, to support those employees and their families, and in our commitment to share our time, talents and treasures with certain family-oriented causes in our community.
Some of these family-oriented causes include: Metropolitan Ministries, YoungLife, DACCO, United Way Admissions & Allocations Committee, Hillsborough Organization for Progress and Equality, YMCA Youth Soccer Program, The Spring, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Women’s Crisis Pregnancy Center, Christ the King Catholic School, the Cub Scouts & the Boy Scouts, and Champions for Children (formerly the Child Abuse Prevention Council).
While we encourage all our web site visitors to get involved in community-based organizations focused on healthy families, please take a closer look at Champions for Children and what that organization is doing to build stronger families and prevent abuse & neglect of children. Between Georgienne, Frank and Mark, we have served a total of eleven years on this organization’s Board of Directors, as well as been financial supporters. Thank you so much for all you did for Mom… and me! I cannot put into words the relief I had knowing you all were there for us. And thanks for sending us such awesome ladies for my Mom that cared for her so well! They were like my best friends too! Thanks to the girls who also treated Jessie as one of their own whenever they came to the house. They all were like her aunts… has to hug whoever was there before she went to bed! She misses you all… as I do!
